Wii Internet Games Free

So I’m thinking of getting the Wii internet channel, but why?
I thought I’d be able to download Wii demos, or free third party Wii games, but now it looks like a waste of $5 for the internet channel when I already have a computer, not including the outdated java problems. So is there anything Wii specific you can do with the internet channel, or should I pass on it? (plz no comments about homebrew / mod)
I’ve not yet come up with a valid reason to get it. I can do all the same things on my computer, and my computers already have nice peripherals like printers and keyboards all set up and waiting for me.
I tend to feel like it’s more a thing that the crowd who doesn’t also have a computer or two of their own finds interesting. Maybe it’s neat to still be able to play around online if Mom or Dad is on the computer or if the Wii’s in your room and a computer isn’t?
