Xbox Hard Drive Transfer Software

Ok, the Xbox 360, bought nearly two years comes with a 20G hard drive. Now it is almost completely full and I want to move the data to the new cable I bought 120g transfer and software. And I've tried to make the transfer. I have seen and followed the step by step to start transfer, but when I put the disc in the Xbox software, nothing happens. Just say "mixed media disk" and when I select it, nothing happens. Am I done something wrong? Do you need to be an Xbox 360 Elite for transfer work?
