Xbox Wireless Router Compatibility

Wireless Internet Connection Question?

Okay, so on the lower floor of my house I have my main desktop which sits next to the cable modem and a Linksys wireless router, which I use for my laptop to connect to the net as well as running a cable from it to my desktop for internet. My question is, if I want to get the desktops on the the other side of the house or the one upstairs connected, do I have to buy the PCI card or run a cable? Isn’t there a means in which I can purchase another wireless router(like one with reverse compatibility) and place it upstairs and then from there run a cable to my desktop and my xbox 360 and such? I hope you get what i mean, if not, I’ll try a schematic thing down below.

Cable Modem —plugged into— Wireless router(downstairs) ))))sending signal)))) Wireless Router(upstairs) —plugged into—Computer and Xbox.

Would that work, like if I just go another Linksys wireless router? Or would that router then not recieve the signal in way that I could run it to my other hardware?

I believe what your looking for is a bridge buying another router might work but a bridge does exactly what youring trying to do
